India Announce Squad for 2011 WC, Ravindra Jadeja announced as Captain

Indian Selection Committee headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth Announced Squad for 2011 WC, which is scheduled this time in Asia. In a surprising Turn and Shockers Srikkanth announced a 15 Member Squad, which shocked every single person present for the occasion.

 

Ravindra Jadeja has been handed over Captaincy of Team India with Anirudha Shrikant announced as his deputy. Ex-Indian Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been surprisingly sacked from captaincy but also has been dropped from 15 members squad. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been forcibly retired from ODI Cricket and other senior players like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambir, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar and Ishant Sharma have been dropped from the world cup squad citing reason as they have been rested ahead of crucial Bangladesh Series coming up.

 

“In this current squad only Jadeja has played more number of ODI and has the experience to lead, Also his fifty in Ranji against Himachal in plate league where he made 50 runs from 399 balls and also got 2 wickets for 268 runs in whole match show he is perfect contender for the role” said Krishnamachari Srikkanth.

 

Tamil Nadu Skipper Anirudh Srikkanth has been handed over vice-captaincy. Citing reasons for that chief selector said “He has played excellent cricket in domestic matches also he has been successfully able to hit the ball over our bungalows compound wall shows he has tremendous hitting abilities. He hit a 100 along with me as we made 200 runs partnerships stand against all our domestic servants. Our Watchman can bowl faster than Bret Lee and Anirudh faced him with utter determination. Selection of Munaf Patel has also raised questions over selection committee, Reporters questions how Munaf Patel made the cut despite not playing a single match in New Zealand tour or Ranji cricket Srikkanth said “Munaf brings in some experience in squad” Unable to understand what experience Munaf will bring to squad as on Most of the tours he went never played any cricket, Srikkanth answered “Munaf has lot of experience of tourism. He never played a single match in all the tours we selected him. He had loads of time so he roamed almost all destinations where India is scheduled to play. So His experience of touring those places will come handy, as Anirudha and Ravindra wont need any tourist guide, as Munaf is available in squad.

 

Asked Regarding Chances of India at this world cup Srikkanth said “we are preparing a Team for 2015 WC so this time we going to test the players capabilities and give them much needed practice of international cricket.”

 

When asked regarding chances for Dhoni’s Comeback in Team Srikkanth said “He is a gem of a player I guess he will have to prove himself in Ranji. I am sure he will lead Jharkhand to glory this time”

 

As I kept quite throughout this conference I finally decided to ask a question “Sir who is this Ajith Visweswaran, and for which Ranji team he plays for?”

 

Srikkanth to utmost shock of mine replied “He is the same guy I told you, whom my son hit 20 sixes, my watchman.” . Well only good thing about this selection is this guy bowls at a average speed of 108kmph, which means faster than Munaf Patel who also happens to be a member of this squad.

 

Our sources close to Srikkanth said Ajith Visweswaran has been selected so that there is a player in team who performs worst than the skipper and his deputy also who can be blamed and sacked for world cup 2011 debacle.

 

I asked final question to cheeka before I decided to leave “Sir do you see Anirudh Leading Team India in future ??”

 

Cheeka replied, “Well right now I am only Chief selector, Srinivasan sir has promised me a honorary position in BCCI till 2015 WC, hopefully after that Anirudh might get promoted.”

 

 

By the time I get up from here the elderly gentleman who was reporting cricket since Sachin Tendulkar started to play has just now died due to heart Attack may his soul rest in peace.
