Chris Gayle is having a dream run with bat at the moment and Bangalore is riding on it with 7 consecutive wins making it a record in Indian Premier League. In a rain hampered game which was reduced to 13 overs per side Kolkata managed to put 89 runs in 13 overs at cost of 4 wickets

As per the D/L Method the revised target for Bangalore was of 102 runs which Gayle made even simpler by cracking a whip with his bat hitting 38 runs in just 12 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. But after Gayle’s wicket Bangalore not just struggled to keep the pace with proceedings but also lost wickets at regular interval.

Ab de Villiers (13 runs from 13 balls) remained not out till end to make sure Bangalore reached home safely. He was well supported by some useful contributions by Skipper Virat Kohli (15 runs from 15 balls) and Mohammad Kaif (15 runs from 13 balls).

Jack Kallis was the pick of the bowler for Kolkata as he finished off with figures of 2-16 in allotted 3 overs. He scalped crucial wickets of kohli and Luke Pomersbach (16 runs from 14 balls). Lee Unadkat and Abuddla claimed 1 wicket each.

Earlier Bangalore bowling made sure kolkata never got off to a flyer. Eion Morgamn was sent back by Zaheer in the third over of game as he tried to flick on uppishly giving a easy catch to Luke at mid wicket. Kallis playing on his ex-home ground was looking comfortable at crease before he was sent back by Langeveldt giving a simple catch behind stumps.

Skipper Gambhir and Manoj tiwary slowed down things trying to compensate for loss at top order before gambhir got out to aravind as he was looking to cut one through point.

Pathan and Tiwary got together building a good partnership before rain came down heavily. After the game was resumed KKR just had 2 overs in hands in which yusuf showed few crackers of kohli’s over but Langeveldt kept things tight in final over making sure kkr never got those 10 extra runs which would have made huge difference considering the fact this game was won by RCB on 3rd ball of final over.

Chris Gayle was awarded the man of the match award for his blitz.
