Cummins Not to 'Come In' For Indian Crowds

Australia's teen bowling sensation, Pat Cummins, wouldn't be seen donning flashy colours of an IPL team in the coming season. This is largely owing to Cricket Australia's efforts to save its bowling prodigy from burnout.

Cummins has missed the present test series against India down under due to a stress related heel injury, which he had sustained while playing in South Africa. Incredibly, he had still managed to come out with a match winning performance, scalping 6 wickets in the second innings and a little batting cameo towards the end.

Cummins, unlike a lot of other starry eyed teenage cricketers, knows exactly where his priorities lie.

“Obviously I can’t play every game. It’s about what games I can play. I’ll see how I go”, he said, talking about proper management of workloads to be able to play the right matches.

Meanwhile Pat Howard, who is the new performance manager of the team, is getting behind sketching a 3 year plan to nurse Cummins, with the help of medical and fitness experts.

“The West Indies is a massive tour for us and obviously I want to make that my No.1 goal”, Cummins said, who is still hoping to make the cut, by recovering at the earliest.

Pat made his debut against South Africa and managed a 5-for with a total haul of 7 wickets in the lone test at 16.71 apiece, including 6/79 in the second innings.

He has also made his ODI and T20I debut. In spite of just being a starter, he could be a huge commodity in the IPL. However, given the Australians’ excitement about seeing him play alongside Pattinson for the coming decade, there would be a lot of eyeballs on this teen sensation.

He is hoping to make a comeback sometime during the tri-series involving India and Sri Lanka alongside the hosts, Australia.
