Legendary Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has said that he is ready to represent any team in the fifth edition of Indian Premier League(IPL).
Muralitharan had represented Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the fourth season of IPL, but Kochi franchise was terminated last year. Therefore, all Kochi players are up for the auction, which is scheduled to be held on February 4.
"I have to be chosen in the auction. I don't know what will happen in February. We will see. If I am chosen, I will play. I will play for any team with whole heart in the IPL," Muttiah Muralitharan said.
Muralitharan believes that Sri Lanka's World Cup win in 1996 was a turning point for Sri Lankan cricket.
"We got importance as a cricket team that year," he said.
Muralitharan has denied reports that Sri Lankan government had ordered a probe into the defeat of Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final against India.
"There is no probe. Nothing like that, it's all rumour," said Muralitharan, who took 800 Test wickets.
