Adelaide: Sourav Ganguly, currently a TV commentator and former Indian captain has bashed the Indian cricket team hard after it was whitewashed in the Test series in England followed by Australia, asking for top-to-toe changes in the current side.

"If the team keeps losing like this, changes are inevitable,"said Ganguly after India lost the final Test at Adelaide by 298 runs, their eighth loss away from home.

Ganguly, who was commentator in the series in Australia , observed that Confidence of the side has hit the bottom but team should not lose heart.

The former captain said that there were times in during the series when India could have performed better at crucial times, and said those missed opportunities made a huge difference.

"If the Indian team had performed better in Melbourne and perhaps have won the match the result of the series could have been different," Ganguly told reporters.

Ganguly also criticized Mahendra Dhoni for his captaincy. He demanded that Dhoni should perform better as batsmen in order to remain leader of the squad.

"Dhoni will have to raise his game to remain captain of the team. If the captain surrenders, the team often falls apart."

Ganguly also had wise word for young pace bowler Ishant Sharma.

"Ishant will have to learn the art of picking up wickets."

He was also not light on Duncan Fletcher. Ganguly is expressed that Fletcher's performance has been poor with the team and former England coach should prove his credibility in upcoming 6 months or else BCCI should look for other better options.

Ganguly also observed no harm in players traveling on cricket tours with their wives.

"Traveling without wives may be a bigger distraction!" he said on a lighter note.
