How times change in cricket! A year ago, Indian cricket and BCCI were on a high after a well organized ODI World Cup saw the team emerge winners, holding on to their No.1 ranking in tests at the same time. BCCI's Working Committee has to come out of the stupor and take concrete steps if India are to win any respect at international level.

There are some interesting plans doing the rounds, including efforts to develop reserve bench strength of fast bowlers and spinners. A group of 30 selected bowlers would then be trained through camps at NCA.
With Shivlal Yadav, the administrative manager of India's test team expected to attend the BCCI Working Committee meeting, one can expect a thorough discussion on the reasons for India's disappointing show on the tour down under.
If the rut has to be arrested and the transition planned, BCCI has to come out of its hot air balloon and see what is going wrong at grass roots level. Only then can Indian team be more consistent with its cricket.
