Pakistani pacer, Sohail Tanvir who is currently playing the Bangladesh Premier League feels its inappropriate to compare it with the Indian Premier League as the latter is a much more big event.

Tanvir was a part of Rajasthan Royals for the inaugural Indian Premier League and played a crucial role to his team’s win in the tournament.

"I don't think one can compare the two right now. The IPL was held on a much bigger scale and is still a big event. The BPL will take time to establish itself as a big event”, said Tanvir.

However he said BPL is a good move to develop Bangladesh Cricket.

"It is a good initiative from Bangladesh cricket and the atmosphere is also picking up. The league should give a big boost to Bangladesh cricket and its players who can learn a lot playing alongside so many foreign players," added the left arm pacer.

He was given a No Objection Certificate from Pakistan Cricket Board after not being selected in the International side.

Now with the launch of Big Bash and Bangladesh Premier League, the PCB is planning to start its own version to be named Pakistan Premier League.

"We are in talks with different sponsors to start the PPL and I am sure we can launch this event this year. We see it as a platform to bring back international cricket to Pakistan," Ashraf , the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman said.

But reluctance of Foreign players to play in Pakistan might be a problem.
