Finally issues between Sahara India and Board of Control for India seem to be coming to the climax with BCCI allowing the Pune Warriors to play 5 foreigners in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League.
Sahara India owned Pune Warriors has been demanding quite a bit from BCCI after their iconic player; Yuvraj Singh was ruled out of the Indian Premier League V edition. One of which is playing with 5 foreign players.
Co-Owner of Kolkata Knight Riders and Bollywood star has been playing a crucial role in mediating between BCCI and Sahara India as a result of which BCCI has agreed to the Pune Warrios playing the 5th foreigner as against 4 by other teams.
However BCCI has warned that other teams also might request for such relaxation in future.
"Shah Rukh is of the opinion that Sahara has a genuine problem (with Yuvi's absence) and so a detailed discussion could help its cause. If all teams are willing, the board doesn't have any problem with it," a BCCI Official told the Times of India.
However BCCI had made it clear it is not going to relax in the reduction of Franchise fee by 27 percent as requested by Sahara India because of the reduction in number of matches from 94 to 74.
Now Pune Warriors have a very good chance in taking part in this edition, though the sponsorship to Indian Cricket remains under doubt.
